It seems that every author discovers their own path to become a successful writer. This is mine.
The life of a future writer began July 20,1939 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. About a year later my family moved west to Winnipeg to live with my mother’s parents as father had joined the army and would not be seen for the next five years.
During the schooling years a personality began to develop into a loquacious, and gregarious storyteller. After graduation, seminary and a working career of plus 40 years I developed a treasure trove of potential stories with few written down.
My first written and published events were about growing up and visiting my grandparents in the country. Local community newspapers gladly accepted and printed my stories. Following these articles I decided to write a short history of my families three generations, grandparents, parents and siblings. After completing my research I was at a loss to put it on paper. Fortunately I discovered Doug Greener, an English major graduate from Bethel College. Since then we have worked together from my 71 page “My Three Generation Journey of Discovery” to writing and publishing several novels.
My first novel SHILLINGSTONE came about as a short story from a visit to a village in England, of the same name. Over time it expanded into a 278 page novel.
My second novel began as short story called THE PRISONER. Later it developed into an 352 page epic novel entitled TRANSPORTED.
Each novel, in its own way, expresses a story about complicated paths and overcoming trials and tribulations, eventually to emerge successfully.
